Wild Horses of Shackleford Banks
Wild horses of Shackleford Banks in Cape Lookout National Seashore, North Carolina
Sunday Afternoon on a Boston Harbor Island
A visitor to the George's Island, one of the many Boston Harbor Islands, takes a moment to relax and read, with the Boston skyline in the distance, on a lazy summer afternoon.
"Down On My Lock at the Francis Gate"
Granite steps leading down into the Pawtucket Canal Francis Gate Guard Lock in Lowell's National Historical Park in Lowell, Massachusetts. This was taken as the lock's water level was lowered to allow our boat passage from the Merrimack River into the Lowell canals.
Western Remnant
A discarded wagon in Capital Reef National Park (Fruita, Utah) and the fall colors of Cottonwoods.
The Narrows
The Narrows is the narrowest section of Zion Canyon. The walls of the gorge are over 1000 ft and if a storm catches you unaware and a flash flood ensues, you won't be climbing them for safety.. Once you leave the end of the paved path, you can continue to hike (and wade at times) for at least another five miles upstream. This is a place I would love to return to during the late winter.
Kolob Cattle at Sunset
The northwest section of Zion National Park, the Kolob area, is far less visited, but is beautiful big country.

The Watchman Under Milky Way
The Millky Way over the Virgin River in Zion Nationa Park with The Watchman in the distance.
The Three Patriarchs
The trail opposite the Court of the Patriarchs viewpoint in Zion National Park is a short one to a photogenic scene of the three sandstone peaks from just near the footbridge crossing the Virgin River - each peak is named after biblical fathers - (left to right) Abraham Peak, Isaac Peak and Jacob Peak.
The Stare Down
Wild Horses of North Carolina's Outer Banks in Corolla.. Enjoying an evening walk along the beach and occassional stare-down to the passing tourists.
Beach Runners
Wild Horses of North Carolina's Outer Banks in Corolla.. They charged right past my parked truck - and if I hadn't shut my door (that I was photographing through) - they might have torn it off. They were FLYING!
Bodie Gold
Bodie Island Lighthouse in North Carolina's Outer Banks during a June sunset
Light of the Distant Dawn
Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in North Carolina's Outer Banks during a foggy morning.
Lookout
Cape Lookout Light Station on Cape Lookout National Seashore in North Carolina. Reached by ferry, there are far fewer people that come to explore here. On the day I visited, I was the only other person on the island. One of my favorite Outerbanks experiences.
A Taste of Salt
A lone wild horse on the beaches of Corolla in North Carolina's Outer Banks out for an evening stroll.
Wild Horses of Coralla

Fire Over Kelso
I was out on the west coast of the U.S. for an engagement andI decided to tack on a trip out to the Kelso Dunes in the Mojave Desert National Preserve. It was a tough hike in (picture a 2 mile beach walk uphill) but I was rewarded with probably the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen.
